How payments work
Last updated 5 October 2026
Dropizon charges one thing: a subscription fee for the software, paid by the person using it. The payment gateway is used for that and nothing else. It never touches the money your eBay buyers pay you, and it is never used to move funds between users.
The one use case
| What is being paid for | A Dropizon software subscription, billed monthly. |
|---|---|
| Who pays | The eBay seller subscribing to Dropizon. Nobody else is ever charged. |
| Who receives | Dropizon, Suite C229, 4-6 Greatorex Street, London, E1 5NF, United Kingdom. |

| Currency | All prices and totals are in US Dollars (USD). Your bank may show a slightly different figure after converting the payment to your card's currency. |
| How often | Once a month, automatically, on the card used at checkout, until the customer cancels. Cancelling stops the next payment; the plan runs to the end of the month already paid. |
| Provider | Stripe, which presents the card form, carries out the 3D Secure step and keeps the card for the monthly payment. |
Where the gateway appears in the purchase
- The customer picks a plan On pricing or the home page. Nothing has been charged and no account exists yet.
- They open checkout The checkout page asks for a name and an email address. No account, no password and no login is required at any point before payment.
- They see the exact amount The order summary shows the plan, the monthly price, any discount code, the total due today in US Dollars and the fact that it renews every month. Our terms and refund policy are linked from the same panel.
- They press Pay We create the order on our side, then hand the customer to Stripe's own hosted checkout page. The card form belongs to the provider.
- They complete the payment By card, with 3D Secure where the bank asks for it. This all happens on the provider's page.
- The provider confirms it to us Not through the browser. Stripe sends us a signed server to server notification, and we verify its signature before we accept it. A browser cannot tell us a payment succeeded.
- We open the account and send the receipt The plan is activated, an invoice is numbered, a receipt is emailed, and the customer is sent a single use link to choose a password. Only now does an account exist.
What happens to card details
They are entered on Stripe's page, and they are never sent to a Dropizon server, never written to our database and never written to our logs. We receive a reference for the transaction and the amount, and nothing else. Stripe keeps the card so it can take the monthly payment; you can change or remove it from Manage billing.
The connection is HTTPS throughout. The confirmation from the provider is signed, and we verify that signature against the raw bytes of the message before we act on it, so a forged confirmation cannot activate a plan.
If a payment does not go through
If the first payment is declined, nothing is charged and no account is created: Stripe's checkout page says why and lets the customer try another card, or they can pay another way by contacting us. If a monthly renewal is declined, the plan keeps working to the end of the month already paid while Stripe tries the card again, and we email the customer a link to pay or to change the card. If money has left an account but the plan has not activated, send us the order id shown on the return page and we will resolve it the same working day.
Refunds and cancellation
Cancel any time from Manage billing on your subscription page (it opens Stripe's billing page). No further payment is taken and the plan runs to the end of the month already paid. If a monthly payment fails, the plan keeps working to its end date while the card is retried, and we email you. Refunds are covered by our refund policy and are returned through the same payment method, by the same provider, to the account that paid.
Common questions
What is the payment gateway used for?
One thing only: collecting the subscription fee for the Dropizon software from the Dropizon customer. It is never used to take money from your buyers, and never to move money between users.
Who is charged?
The eBay seller who is subscribing to Dropizon. Their buyers pay eBay, and eBay pays the seller. That money never passes through Dropizon.
What currency are prices in?
US Dollars. Every price and total on Dropizon is in US Dollars (USD). Your bank may show a slightly different figure after converting the payment to your card's currency.
Do you store my card?
No. Card details are entered on Stripe's own checkout page and they never reach a Dropizon server. Stripe keeps the card so it can take the monthly payment; we only ever see a reference.
Will I be charged automatically each month?
Yes. A plan is a monthly subscription: Stripe charges the same card once a month until you cancel. Cancel any time from Manage billing on your subscription page; nothing more is charged and the plan runs to the end of the month already paid.
Do I need an account to pay?
No. Checkout asks for your name and an email address. The account is created when the payment succeeds and you choose a password afterwards.
